Purchase of 91/97 Koon Seng Road from Pentecost Methodist Church at $4.901 million. |

Charis moved into the Koon Seng Road premises in March.

Mandarin Service inaugurated on 30th May. |

Charis Student Care Centre opened its doors at Geylang Central to 33 students. |

Setting of Charis' vision and mission and drawing up of five-year plan at Leaders' Retreat in September. |

Reconstruction of bungalow and renovation of Church building. |
| 2001 |
Completion of reconstruction and renovation work to the bungalow and Church building.

Second Student Care Centre at Geylang Central opened its doors in July. This is a joint venture between Charis and Marine Parade Community Development Council (MP-CDC). |

Launch of House of Healing ministry.
Launch of Activity Centre for the Elderly (ACE).

Thanksgiving and dedication of the refurbished church building and the reconstructed bungalow named "House of Peniel" on 31st August. |
