It’s been two months since I last spoke about Passionate Living and I was wondering how the Charis community is working towards bringing the 40 DOP and 40 DOC life principles together. Cell leaders’ training had also been done following the sermons and I am concerned that all cell members begin to grow deeper in relationship to one another and mutually accountable to each other.

To facilitate and encourage passionate living in our midst, I thought that I will use some moments before the worship service (pre-worship meditation slot) to give time for those already in the sanctuary to talk with a fellow worshiper about how he/she is doing in their walk with Jesus in the four areas of Passionate living. This will be done at least twice a month. What appears on the powerpoint in the morning will also be printed in the bulletin to allow those who are uncelled to meet with like minded brothers and sisters after service. While you wait for your children to complete their time of ministry or choir practice, you may find a corner with 2 others to run through the questions (3 in a group is ideal). I hope to strengthen the climate of mutual accountability as we walk with the Lord as one.

My Private World
- Act of Devotion: At what moment this past week did you feel closest to Christ? When was your faith tested this week through failure?
- Act of Compassion: What have you done during this week so Christ will be better known and loved in your: family, vocation, community, small group, Christian community?

My Public World
- Act of Worship: At what moment during this week did you feel you were responding to God’s call to be His disciple? Where did you participate in being the Church this week, the heart beat of Christ?
- Act of Justice: At what moment this week did you respond to a social issue mentioned in the Local Newspaper through prayer or other courses of action?

What is your plan for spirituality, study, and action for the week to come?

If you are not in a cell, come early twice a month and walk through these questions with a fellow worshiper before the service or after the service. If you are in a cell, cooperate with your cell leader to work out the covenant clauses that you wish to abide by for this year.

The more we ask these questions in the presence of another, the more we will become aware of the need to be conscious that our lives are lived purposefully and passionately. As the time is short, do not allow yourselves to be easily distracted but keep to the points that are to be shared and end in a short prayer together one for the other.
