This verse reminded me to have faith in God, knowing that God is with me and protecting me in times like this.

On 9 March, I was discharged and told to go back on 27 March for surgery. I continued to pray to the Lord while I was at home.

Before I could go for my operation on 27 March, Singapore was hit by SARS. My operation was delayed for 3 months. I was a little upset and worried. I prayed earnestly every day for healing, asking the Lord for courage, patience and strength to go through this ordeal. Later, the hospital called and told me to go for my surgery on 10 June. I had another colon scope one day before my surgery to mark the tumour. My surgeon, Dr Andrew Wong who is a Christian told me to pray for God’s healing. The inflammation and the infection went away after I took some antibiotics. The surgeon removed the tumour by laparascopy which open 2 holes instead of 4 holes and removed only 4 cm of my colon, instead of 85cm. The operation took almost 3 hours and was successful. Praise God! I was in pain for 3 days, injection was given but it was not much help. I remembered that night was our CG meeting. I phoned sister Susan to tell the CG members that I needed their prayers, the doctor had said my intestines were not functioning properly. The CG members prayed and asked God to remove the pain, heal my intestines to function properly and heal me quickly so that I could be back home with my family. The next day, to my surprise, I was told that I would be able to go home the following day if everything was normal. I thank God I was discharged on 15 June (the next day).

I read Psalm 103: 1-5 and Psalm 105. I praise God for He forgives my sins, heals my disease, redeems me. My faith in the Lord increased. Prayer is so powerful. Our God is so real. I know I can always count on Him. I want to keep living close to Him.

Healing Testimony by Serene Teo

Two months ago, I have a slight pain on my left chest. It comes and goes. It was not very serious then. The chest pain would come when I poised in a certain position. I did not take it seriously.

On 13th July Sunday morning, as Sister Louise Tan was giving her healing testimony, I crouched in a certain position to listen intently because I was very curious on how God can heal an advanced cancer patient. The chest pain came again. This time I could feel that the pain was more acute than before.

After sister Louise testimony, we were encouraged by Ps.Daniel to come forward to receive healing if we have any sickness. At first, I did not go forward because healing was very new to me. The pain did not go away and with Andrew’s (my fiancé) encouragement, I went forward to the altar to be ministered to. Brother Stanley told me that healing would take place

according to the Word of God. I have to believe that Jesus had already taken away the chest pain on the Cross as in 1Petr2:24. He also asked me to receive the healing power of God by faith the moment he laid his hands on me.

After hands were laid on me, I tried to calm down and to my surprise, I could feel some electric current going through my two palms which were held up. It was amazing. I never realize I could actually feel the healing power of God. I was so amazed that I kept telling God that I could feel His presence and His healing power. I kept praising Him and thanking Him.

10 minutes later, the current went away and I went back to my seat. I could still feel a little pain but an hour later, all the pain was gone. Till now, the pain did not reoccur. Praise God!

July/August 03 Update – Victory Over Cancer

Dear friends and prayer partners,

Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus!

These two months have been filled with ministry needs and various trials, hence I must apologize for not keeping you abreast of happenings more often. God is good, faithful and kind and strengthened and enabled me to maintain the victory over trials, while also empowering and enabling me to minister to new and existing cancer referrals.

It was in early August that I was informed about the ministry of Pastor Jean Lim, a minister from Malaysia.  At a service where she ministered I was privileged and blessed to witness how the Lord used her in a ministry of teaching, preaching and healing the sick, just like what Jesus did when He was on earth (Matthew 4:23, 9:35). To learn as much as I could from how the Lord anointed her and used her I bought a number of books written by her and also her VCDs of healing testimonies.

In her book Victory Over Cancer she shares from her extensive experience in ministering to cancer patients. In particular she shared a number of terminally ill advanced cancer patients, who were supernaturally healed by the Lord’s mighty hand. What doctors and conventional treatments had failed to do, the Lord used her to bring those on the brink of death to healing and good health. He not also saved and healed their bodies from death and destruction, but also saved the souls of the sick and their family members. Sometimes an entire family turned to the Lord when they see the mercy of God extended to heal their loved ones.

She gives these pointers in how to achieve victory over cancer:

1. Do not receive the pronouncement of death over you

Do not let it bring a curse on you. Reject and renounce it straightaway.  The bible says that every good gift comes from God (James 1:17). Sickness is not a good gift. Sickness is not from God but from Satan. When you receive the word which says that you are sick, you open the door of your life to Satan. You allow him to attack you with sickness and disease.

2. Listen to the Word of God

Do not listen to the negative words of man but listen to the word of God. Believe in the word of God. This is important.  Matthew 8:17 confirms that “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”  The written word of God is the revealed word of God.  God has already sent His word in the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:1) to heal us.  When Jesus died for our sins 2,000 years ago, He also died for our sicknesses.  ”My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hoshea 4:6).  Many Christians today are struggling with sickness and disease not because God is not powerful or great enough to deliver them, but because they do not know the word of God.

3. Do not let Satan take advantage of you

Do you know why Satan can take advantage of God’s people today? Because they are ignorant of his devices (2 Corinthians 2:11).  God does not want us to remain ignorant. He has given us His wisdom to discern and to see in the spiritual realm (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).  Paul warned us that we have an unseen enemy. This enemy, Satan, is wicked and highly strategised (Ephesians 6:10-17).  Without God, man is without hope. God does not want us to put our trust in man but only in Him (Jeremiah 17:5-7).

4. Know that you have a big God

Read the Bible afresh and ask for God’s revelation on how to receive divine healing.

5. Have faith in God, not man

The Bible says to have faith in God (Mark 11:22), not in man.  Many people put their faith in the wrong things. But if you put your faith in God, God will never fail you.

6. Build up your faith

If you have unbelief, confess it to God and cast it out now.  Read the word of God daily. Fill your mind with the word of God. Do not allow negative influences to distract and weigh you down. Learn to put your whole trust in Him. Be in the presence of God always. Seek after Him.

7. Do not be double-minded. Act on your faith

Faith is trusting Jesus 100%. When you receive the healing power flowing through you, act in faith. If you are lying down in bed, stand up and walk. If you cannot eat, eat. Do what you thought you could not do before.  Attend as many healing meetings as you can. Talk to those who have already received healing. Encourage yourself in the Lord. Give praise and thanks to him for healing you. Worship Him.

Healing Testimony by Hennie Kow

That week before the start of Charis House of Healing on 11 July 2003 (Friday), I had a swelling on top of my left foot.

It was painful whenever I walked. I was limping because of the pain and swell. In order to ensure that the swell was not due to any fracture, I went for an x-ray. Result — no hair-line fracture at all, nothing wrong with my bone.

Next I thought it was caused by water-retention but it was not. If it is water-retention, swell should appear on both feet and not on one only. It was then suspected to be gout or arthritis. Isaiah 53:5 says :-

” But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed” and I Peter 2:24 says :-

“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed.”

It is God’s will to heal sicknesses and healing has already taken place at the cross. Stanley taught us that we receive healing by an act of faith i.e by coming forward like the two blind men who received their sight in Matthew 9:28, 29.

So on the 11 July 2003, I came forward when the altar call was made by Stanley. When I was in front, I felt a very strong presence of God. Pastor Rev Dr Daniel Lee was ministering to me. He laid His hand on my forehead. I went down. I felt like a piece of cloth covering my forehead. Then Pastor saw a vision. He spoke about refreshing. After that evening, slowly and steadily, the swell began to reduce in size. One evening, I had a wonderful dream. I dreamt I was wearing a pair of beautiful shoes. I was so happy. This is definitely a confirmation that I am healed, otherwise, how to fit into any shoe with that swell.

To prove that I have been completely healed, I went for a bone-mass test and blood test. Results showed BMD (Bone Mineral Density) is within normal range and negative for gout and arthritis.

So for the weeks that followed, the swell kept reducing in size until there was no more swell now. Thank you Father that I am healed. Praise You Lord. Thank you all who prayed with me, especially Pastor Daniel Lee and all our leaders.

Testimony by Mrs Man Kim Ling

GOD HEALS!

I want to testify of God’s faithfulness to His word regarding healing be it big or small requests. My left heel had been injured by the wrong kind of footwear I bought. As a result of prolonged use, the pain was so unbearable that I had to walk in such a manner that puts more stress on the right leg, which caused the knees to hurt as well. I had experienced this years ago, remembering that at the rate that I’m going, the other heel would start to hurt and the whole process would fall into a vicious cycle, taking many months of treatment & rest to overcome.

At the same time one of my finger tips developed an allergic reaction to household cleaning agents as mild as the dishwashing liquid. Blisters formed. They were itchy and filled with liquid or pus, often spread to a time where the nails would start tearing from the flesh, just at the tip. This is one of my worst fears, as one who had eczema since young, this means long time suffering & possible spread to other fingers. Unless I don’t use my hands including cleaning my daughter or prepare food for a long period of time, no amount of medication can help. As for eczema, the doctor said nothing can be done as this was identified as a hereditary disease, only way is to continue the use of steroid creams, which can only relief the symptoms but not able to cure. Once the skin is disturbed with an insect bite or heat rash, the spot will develop into the eczema condition that I can’t run away from.

I am used to hearing testimonies about miraculous healing such as the handicapped made whole and major illnesses gone etc. But I have not come across any healing testimonies about chronic illnesses such as eczema, or non-life-threatening pain being shared. So I kept telling myself that it is nothing really that big or serious anyway to ask God for the trouble. I’ll just go through the trouble of hopping around if necessary on days when the heel gets real painful and as for the skin, bear with the itch or use the medication if it gets worse, knowing that the steroid cream is not a good alternative.

During one of Stanley’s sharing at the House of Healing, he mentioned:

James 4-6:

But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: ”God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

I realized that there is pride in trying to cope with my condition even though they seemed insignificant.

James 5-14:

Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

Stanley also explains that once hands are laid on me, it means that I’m set apart to be healed. Therefore I should start thanking God and keep exercising my faith.

So out I came to receive healing. As I depart from the sanctuary, I can feel the pain leaving my heel and within 2 hours, just before bedtime, the pain was totally gone. I can identify with the man who was healed in Act3:8 …walking and jumping and praising God.” Praise the Lord! He is so good!

The blister on my finger eventually dried up and the skin returned to normal within a week, during which no medication is needed again. So I resume my daily routine of washing and cleaning, and best of all, playing the piano. I continue to give thanks for the healing over the other eczema spots on my body and I believe that “by His stripes, I am healed.” Amen.

Healing Testimony by Sam Chan

Thank God for His healing power, I want to share how God healed me of my ear problem.

On Saturday, 17 August, while taking shower, water got trapped in my right ear. I tried to get rid of the water by using cotton bud. It not only did not solve the problem, it made it worse. My right ear got hurt badly and I could not hear clearly after that shower.

I wanted to see the doctor on Monday but found out that the company clinic near my office has moved to another location. While thinking of whether to see another doctor, I was reminded of seeking healing from God. I decided to exercise faith in God for healing of my right ear.

That same Friday, I came for House of Healing and I responded to the altar call to receive healing from God. Hands were laid on me but I did not get an instant recovery. However, I believed that I have already received the healing power of God according to God’s word and I am healed and on my way to full recovery.

However, days went by and I did not see any improvement in the hearing of my right ear. Doubts and fears came and these negative thoughts got me worried and anxious.

Thoughts like “Will the problem spread to my left ear? And if so, I could lost all hearing!” All I could do was to talk to God and thank Him for what Jesus has done. The Holy Spirit also reminded me of the teachings from House of Healing that in the Bible, some received their complete healing instantly and others received it gradually. These words encouraged me to be patient and keep exercising my faith for complete recovery. Trusting God that my complete recovery will come to pass.

I kept doing that and 2 weeks passed and I checked my right ear and thank God that all the pain was gone and I could hear normally. I did not even notice on which day I got completely healed. Thank God for His goodness and His Word. God still heals today.

Healing Testimony by Endy Tan

I have been a Christian for a long time. But my belief in the healing power of God was very limited. Most of the time, when I prayed for healing, either for others or myself, I was eager to see healing take place instantaneously. If not, doubts, worries and fear will come to my mind.

However, after attending a series of healing teaching sessions conducted by our brother Stanley Lee during our cell group meetings, my mind is now renewed through the hearing of God’s Word.

Thank God, through His Word, I know that healing belongs to us and it is God’s will to heal us according to the Scriptures Isa 53:5 and Matt 8:17.

There were several occasions that I had experienced God’s healing in my life and my love ones through praying and confession of His Word.

A few years ago, I remembered my daughter was suddenly having a high fever in the middle of the night. Both my husband and I panicked, as there was not any medicine left for her. At that moment we could not do anything but to trust in God. So we both laid our hands on her head and rebuked the fever. Within half an hour God took the fever away from her without any medication.

Another occasion happened three years ago. I had a root canal treatment and a crown was fixed on one of my right tooth. However, less than a year my right tooth started to give me problem again. Whenever I ate any food, I could feel the pain on my right tooth. I went to consult another dentist. The dentist recommended me to have another root canal treatment without which my condition could worsen. Due to the high cost of treatment (estimated S$600 – S$800 including fixing a new crown), I was not prepared to do so.

Since then, I started to pray to God every day. Many days went by, but my condition did not improve. However, I kept believing God’s Word, kept speaking God’s Word and thanking God that I was healed. For I believe that if I act according to His Word as in Hebrews 11:1, I would receive complete healing from Him. After few weeks of confessing my faith in God’s Word that I am healed, I was amazed that I could enjoy my food without feeling any pain on my right tooth. Praise God! I was completely healed. Till now, no defect on my right tooth was traced during my yearly check-up.

In the recent case, my mum had suffered a painful swell in her left knee. When she woke up early in the morning, it was so painful that she could not get down from her bed. Without hesitation, my sister and I laid our hands on her left knee and claimed healing on behalf for my mum based on Mark 16:17-18. Not long after praying I felt a heat sensation like an electrical current passed through my hand to my mum’s left knee. It affirmed me that my mum had received an instant healing touch from God. After resting half an hour on the bed, the pain on my mum’s left knee gradually lifted and she rejoiced that she could able to get down from her bed to walk.

All glory to God! Through His Word we are made whole.
