LCEC July Update

LCEC

The Great Commission is given to all of us. Matthew 28:19 says “Therefore go and
make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you.” This mission is given to all of us. This month, LCEC discussed the outreach
ministries, which includes Witness and Evangelism, Outreach and Social Concerns,
and Missions. We want outreach and evangelism to be part of our discipleship, and
our response to God‘s call for our lives. This is how we participate in God’s mission.

First, we will continue with Alpha. This has been a useful platform for us so we will
continue that. At the same time, we need to make evangelism a part of our everyday
lives. So, I would like to challenge all of you to do that in your small groups, and at
your workplace.

Second, we will start our Samaria ministry in August, where we will be housing rough
sleepers in our church, giving them a roof over their heads. The Social Concerns
ministry is also looking at creating more volunteer opportunities that will allow all of
you to participate in social concerns and outreach. We will be partnering with other
agencies, like Ministry of Social and Family Development, and Agency for Integrated
Care to reach out to those in need around the church. We will share more
information in due time, and I look forward to your active participation.

Third, the Missions committee has worked with the CAC Board of Missions to adopt
a new mission field in Kota Tinggi, Malaysia. This provides a more accessible
missions field for anyone - young and old - looking to join short mission trips, over
the weekend. Kota Tinggi is a great addition to our existing mission fields in Thailand
and Philippines, where we will continue to send mission trips.

Do look out for all these activities through the church’s ministry highlights and the
new WhatsApp Channel. On this note, we have transited fully to the channel, so do
keep in touch with the church through that. Finally, I hope that these new
opportunities will allow all of us to bring the gospel to the people around us, allowing
us to be part of God’s mission in this world. Let’s go and make disciples of all
nations. Thank you.
