OUTREACH & SOCIAL CONCERNS MINISTRY

Outreach & Social Concerns Ministry
The Outreach & Social Concerns Ministry exists to serve our neighbourhood through practical care, relational presence, and shared life. This ministry seeks to extend God’s love beyond the church walls by responding to real needs in tangible and meaningful ways.
Service takes many forms, including donation drives, community workshops, and outreach initiatives that create opportunities for connection and care. Those who sense a call to serve the neighbourhood are invited to journey alongside this ministry in both hands-on service and behind-the-scenes support.
Project Ezer
Project Ezer is the primary outreach initiative of the Outreach & Social Concerns Ministry.
In Scripture, the Hebrew word ʿēzer (עֵזֶר), often translated as “helper,” carries a depth of meaning that goes beyond assistance. An ʿēzer is a source of strength, an indispensable presence without whom the intended good cannot come to pass. The Bible most often uses this word to describe God Himself, the One who comes to the aid of His people (Psalm 33:20; Psalm 121:1–2). Project Ezer reflects this understanding of help. It is an expression of strength, partnership, and care rooted in God’s own character.
Each month, Charisians gather to pack and distribute essential household items and NTUC vouchers, and to extend financial assistance to families in need. Through these simple yet intentional acts, Project Ezer seeks to serve the neighbourhood with dignity and compassion, trusting that God’s love may be encountered through practical care.
Training & Equipping
From time to time, trainings are organised in partnership with Methodist Welfare Services to equip volunteers for outreach and care. These sessions are open not only to those serving in Outreach & Social Concerns, but also to other ministries or individuals who wish to learn more about serving the community.
