Charis Methodist Church (Charis) began as the Methodist Youth Fellowship of Geylang Chinese Methodist Church. An evening English worship was inaugurated in 1966 by Bishop Lundy and pastored by the late Rev. Fang Ming Teck. In 1989, Charis become an autonomous Church under the Chinese Annual Conference of The Methodist Church in Singapore.
